Teach the Fundamentals in Sentence Writing Strategy in its entirety to a person or class, following the instructional steps in the manual.

Evidence of teaching the Strategy

For three weeks in January 2021, I taught Fundamentals of Sentence Writing to Mr. Gallegos' ESOL Reading class.  Many of the students are not fluent speakers, so I would teach the content and Mr. Gallegos would interpret as we progressed each day.  One other modification, I translated the Noun Bank and Verb Bank in Spanish.  This resource was used throughout.

Completion

The strategy was completed in May 2019. Overall students were successful with limited remediation provided throughout implementation.

Implementation

Overall the students made progress each week with their understanding of sentence components. Students were eager to write and were pleased with their success.
