1.      The group of students 48 ESE students in a Learning Strategies class at a middle school.
          a.       15 – females; 33 – males
          b.      12 – 6th graders; 17 – 7th graders; 19 – 8th graders
          c.       ESE students with varying exceptionalities including:                                                              
                    i.      Specific Learning Disabled                                                            
                    ii.      Other Health Impaired                                                          
                    iii.      Autism Spectrum Disorder, and                                                          
                    iv.      Language Impaired

instructional time frame

I started teaching the Fundamentals in Sentence Writing strategy in January 2022 to a 9-year-old student. She received instruction over a period of 2+ months on the strategy.

Teaching Fundamentals in Sentence Writing

I began teaching the Fundamentals in Sentence Writing strategy in January 2021 to a small group of middle school students. Students received approximately three weeks of instruction on the strategy.

Evidence of teaching the Strategy

For three weeks in January 2021, I taught Fundamentals of Sentence Writing to Mr. Gallegos' ESOL Reading class.  Many of the students are not fluent speakers, so I would teach the content and Mr. Gallegos would interpret as we progressed each day.  One other modification, I translated the Noun Bank and Verb Bank in Spanish.  This resource was used throughout.
