7. Engage with SIM Professional Developer

I submitted a draft of the Vocabulary LINCing Routine and met with Diane Gillam virtually on February 15, 2019.  Upon receiving feedback, I updated and submitted the revised draft on June 14, 2019.  I implemented the routine with colleagues acting as my students on June 21, 2020 and received feedback from Diane on that same date.  

I participated in two days of activities to assist with becoming a SIM Specialist in the Content Enhancement Routines and Learning Strategies.  The activities focused on increasing my knowledge and understanding of how these routines and strategies can be used to build a comprehensive instructional package.  

I used the Vocabulary LINCS Table to illustrate  and define the terms: progress and monitor.  These LINCS Tables were created as part of a comprehensive instructional package used to demonstrate the effectiveness for student use of the routine. 

Bethany and I had a virtual session on January 23 with Patty via Zoom.  We discussed how to proceed with badge attainment and our progress thus far.  

Patty and I met via Zoom and discussed that I need to submit a log for Vocabulary lincing routine and implementation portfolio with feedback shared.  Patty suggested to give the students a lot of control in coming up with their own picture.  Have the students come up with the reminding word as well.  Once portfolio and log are completed I should again request feedback.  

I have engaged in group coaching session on 12/4/18, 12/5/18, 2/1/19, 3/1/19, and 4/5/19.  I engaged in an individual coaching session on 4/9/19. I will be engaging in a group coaching session/training on 4/23-4/25/19

3/27/19 - Able to speak to Diane regarding another routine and had mentioned that I was also working on the evidence of the Vocabulary LINCing Routine badge. She was able to assist in my understanding of the elements that were required on the badge list and I realized I was further on the requirements then I had previously thought. During are discussion Diane had mentioned that while completing the a self-reflection and the checklists on the video and the table I will notice mistakes and that I should learn from these mistakes and make sure that the next time I work with students or a group of people on the LINCing table I remember the mistakes to not make them again and grow from the process.
3/28/19 - Sent checklist on the first LINCing table that I completed. While I have improved since then I do wish I would have reached out early for coaching support, it would have saved me so much.
