I have found that in the use of the Frame in the classroom students become more comfortable. I truly believe because they are generated ideas of what to include they are interested and more likely to produce the “So What…”. I do find that after creation of the Frame students have pulled it out and referenced it instead of their notes as we move through the unit. I have mainly used the Fame to introduce main ideas on a unit. When introducing the ideas though they have had some prior exposure to the ideas (maybe it is an introductory investigation or a video). I feel the prior exposure gives them more information to include and not just me talking. I would like to evolve into having students fill in the Frame as a means of review prior to a test. While some students in my course this year (it is April) are ready for that next step some need to continue working in a guided group.
