Google Classroom makes it easy to organize information and set up an online learning platform for students. Through the use of Topic Headings, I can easily organize classroom content either by unit or by date. This makes it easy for students and parents to access information at a glance. It helps students organize their own notes and information as well.
The variety of assignment options and settings provide an interactive way for students to engage in learning, as well as catch up on what they've missed when absent. As a music teacher, I love that there is an option to post YouTube videos - this is an easy way to share music with my students! This way, they can access some of the music we explore in class at home, too!
Within those options for class material and assignments, Google Classroom implements a variety of settings that allow for effective classroom management with ease. For example, there are settings that allow only one assignment submission from each student. There are settings that allow the teacher to implement a due date and even a specific time. Google Classroom even added an option to "lock" student chromebooks, so that they cannot access other tabs while taking a quiz. These settings allow the teacher to customize each assignment and posting to suit their specific classroom needs.
