I read an online article from the journal The Year in Ecology and Conservation Biology. The article was "Risks to biodiversity from hydraulic fracturing for natural gas in the Marcellus and Utica shales" and it was about Hydraulic fracturing. I had little to no knowledge about Hydraulic fracturing before reading the article, I've only heard about it and based my opinion on others. I didn't know how much of a controversy the process what and didn't know how much people disagreed with it. After reading the article I've learned the huge health risk it brings to a community and the negative effects it has on our world. Before, I've only had heard the good and never the bad, after reading the article I'm able to form my own opinion about the process.
