Weathering and erosion are slowly changing the geography of our environment. Weather is a tool used by the environment to create change. In terms of precipitation, rainwater can mix with pollutants, forming a acidic concoction that dissolves rock. This is called acid rain.
Snow accumulates on the top of mountains. It forms glaciers that weigh down on rocks and push them deep into the ground. As a glacier melts, it deposits and transports debris such as soil and rock. The sediment flows towards the ocean and forms new land masses over time!
