Reflection

When students search for information on Google, millions of results can appear if what is typed in the search engine is vague. Student can save a lot of time while researching if they narrow their search parameters using the advanced function while using google. This is a great tool for students since "Google it" is such a common phrase and action in today's society, especially for our high school aged students. This can be used while researching for any class, or for personal reasons. 

The most direct way that I can use these skills with my students is to teach them how to limit their searches to get the most effective results. I will have to first teach them how to identify keywords and phrases for their topics and then how to input the information into the advanced search page.

This will impact my teaching and student learning because we will all be more proficient in the process and will be more efficient in the completion of our work. It definitely gives me a better way to assist students with their research on the service learning projects that we complete.

This advanced search could help me to direct students on specific search missions.

My students are currently doing a career report on any ag mechanics career. By showing them how to do the advanced search, they can limit the mass number of responses that google gives them into something more manageable. Google is a wonderful tool, but can be very overwhelming when you don't really know what you are looking for. This would help limit the masses
