I learned a more in depth definition of student privacy and why it is important in this new digital age of learning. I also learned the three important federal laws, FERPA, COPPA, and PPRA that protects student data from exploitation. I understood student privacy as far as health records, discipline records, academics, and disabilities, but this training reaffirmed that even though we use district approved educational online services, a student's online presence should also be protected.
