I don't know that I learned anything new in this training. It was a good refresher of what I know about student privacy. I don't read the privacy policies of the apps I download. I figure if I'm using it then I have to agree. It's kind of a Catch-22, I, as a consumer, don't have much in the way of recourse if I find that my rights are being violated by an app that is required. I think of the things that work or others want to use and if I want to be a part of that organization or group then I have to accept the terms of the apps privacy policy. I think we can do a lot to protect our students, but I don't really think that we can do it all. The biggest thing in this course is just really following the guidance of those individuals higher up the food chain and then making sure that I'm more in control of what and how students use the applications in a classroom.
