I think that participating in workshops and webinars is a great way to get professional development. It is a lot of learning jam-packed into a short 1-3 hour crash course that can be directly applied to my future classrooms. Not only did this particular webinar teach me a lot about connecting my students with the outside world, but it also gave me even more resources to reach out and learn. I think that the main purpose of all of the easy-access PD is that it is teaching me to reach out for help where it is offered. There is more support and PD available to me than I could ever take advantage of, but that just reassures me that there will always be help available when I seek improvement.
