This is relevant to my future classroom because it expresses the value and importance of teaching certain things in your classroom like the story of Anne Frank and the patterns of identity struggles and discrimination that she endured. Many people may believe that since this happened so long ago, it is not relevant anymore but in reality, the patterns are the same in today's society and it is important to do what we can to counteract them. I plan on teaching kindergarten, so teaching my students about Anne Frank's life specifically will not be appropriate, but using the ideas from this webinar could hold me accountable in supporting my students and making sure they are in a safe and loving environment.
