Three Tools

I have used Nearpod a little bit in my classroom over the past few years, however I am really only comfortable with Virtual Field Trips.

I would love to try out the time to climb activities (my students often ask about this, but I was unfamilar with it), quizzes, and the drag and drop. I am anxious to see how these lessons work across all academic areas!

Nearpod

I began to create a lesson uploading my google slides about plate tectonics and I was able to upload my slides and insert the Time to Climb questions easily.  I like Time to Climb as a quick way to check knowledge. I was then able to find a video quickly and then add a Virtual Reality Field Trip of going inside a cave.  Fun lesson creator that allows everything to be in one place.

Three Tools to Use

There are a few of the activities that I would like to try out and see if it works in a classroom setting:
1) Draw it - I have used in the past the vocab strategy where they draw a picture to help them remember the word, so I would use this one as a review at the end of a nearpod or after introducing a new word
2) Matching Pairs - Another good resource to use to review vocabulary at the end of a lesson.
3) Fill in the blanks - I use this all the time as a review homework - again another way to review important concepts and vocabulary from a lesson or unit

My students are always asking if they will do Nearpod each day.

I have been using Nearpod for a few weeks.  My students absolutely love Time to Climb, being able to participate through Draw It, and the Virtual Field trips.

3 Tools

1) I'm really excited how Nearpod integrates multiple resources into one platform. I find the logistics of getting students logged in to different resources very time consuming. Looking forward to this streamlining the process.

2) I like on the extended response questions I can turn on voice answering and students can explain their answer orally versus writing it out. The image uploader is also a great feature for math problems.

3) I absolutely love that Nearpod has a basic equation editor so students can type math symbols they need.

3 Tools

1. The Nearpod feature I'm most excited about is the integration with so many other educational platforms. I feel like my lessons are sometimes cumbersome loading all the various resources into Google Classroom, so I'm excited to find a way to condense the material into one easy location.
2. In a similar vein, I'm excited to use the Quiz feature to assess student learning and engagement within the presentation, instead of waiting until the lesson is over and having to create a separate Google Form.
3. Last, I'm interested in using the videos to help enhance lessons.

3 tools

The 1st tool that I'm excited to use is the Time to Climb - I think the kids will be motivated by this interactive game play and I love that I have the ability to adapt it.

The 2nd tool are the videos lessons relating to phonics strategies

The 3rd tool are the assessment pages that I can read to the students - sometime Envisions testing isn't always accurate because the students rush through or it is visually confusing for them.

I enjoy the ability to use videos.  I am excited to start using the audio tool.  Time to Climb is so fun for the students.  They don't even realize they are learning.

3 tools to try out

I'm a little disappointed that there are not more digital art resources. I could definitely use VR field trip, Sway looks interesting and I might be able to find something usable in Nearpod 3D. There are some art and culture videos that may be useful in Flocabulary. I think I would mostly insert video, use collaborative boards, create quizzes and post slide shows. I wish the Simulation app had a camera simulator; maybe in the future.
