Step one is to define and identify behaviors. It is important to define the behavior by being specific to the case and by being objective. Step one should give the behavior and what was seen leading up to or directly after the behavior. Step two is data collection, by collecting data in multiple different learning situations teachers and support staff can see when and where the behavior is more likely to occur. Step three is to identify the function of the behavior which helps to make a plan in the future.
