TAG Feedback Protocol

I like the TAG protocol and how it is quick formative feedback. I like the idea of quickly swapping work and using a post-it. This could work for just about any activity. The first part is to TELL something you really liked, then ASK a thoughtful question, and finally GIVE a positive suggestion. I like the idea of sharing out the feedback with the class. I can see how we would have to do a great deal of modeling to make this work successfully. I think I could use this every day in ELA that we do our spiral review, or when we do our math workbooks in the morning. It could be a quick way that students can get and give feedback in a relatively short amount of time. The modelling would be required to make sure they are staying positive, helpful and kind I think.

TAG Feedback

I work with multiple grade levels for math and reading. I would implement a TAG protocol for math lessons, such as word problems and the strategies to solve them. If a student draws a picture that best fits the word problem, we would have a visual. The students can give the feedback that was needed, and ask question as to how they solved the problem. The positive suggestions do help students understand what they can work on for the next word problem, and what strategy can work best for the problem.
