I might use these resources in your role and how you plan to share them with colleagues as we begin integrating computing tools for lesson planning, assessments, and collaboration. We can also start to begin utilizing online platforms for professional development and networking allows for continuous learning and connections. Sharing these would be great to make positive change!

Next year the elementary librarian and I will be doing more digital computer and media skills. The materials from these badges will be extremely helpful. I can't wait to plan some new things and share with our admin and other teachers,

Useful resource

I like how the newsletter organizes this component.  It gives real-world examples for teachers to use in teaching the impacts of digital computing to their students. I appreciate its succinct design, and would absolutely access this again, if needed.

Impacts of Computing Newsletter

Wow!  This is a great newsletter!  It is teacher language friendly and it also has some great links and lesson plans attached to each standard to help teachers make sure they are covering all of the topics needed.

Computing is impacting our present and will have a significant impact on future generations

This article helped me to understand the impacts of computing on the world, and especially on students.  It was validating to read that the standardized testing of today is not training children for the future, which is how I often feel.  It is important for educators to understand what is happening in the workforce so that the children we teach are prepared.  After all, they are the future innovators of this world and the new economy depends on them having the skills they need.
I can share this information with colleagues and give them some ways that they can help kids develop the skills they need to be innovators.  The article suggests using Book Creator, which is something I use with my students.  I try to give them choice boards for final projects, and that is always a choice on there.  It is an easy, versatile way to integrate a technological platoform into the classroom.

Newsletter

Teachers can start by familiarizing themselves with the Impacts of Computing standards. They can incorporate these standards into their lesson plans and engage their students in learning about the impact of computing on their lives and society as a whole. For example, the Digital Citizenship Unit can be used to teach students about responsible online behavior, while the Netsmartz activities can be used to teach students about internet safety.

In terms of sharing these resources with colleagues, teachers can participate in professional development or workshops to introduce these resources and how they can be incorporated into their lesson plans. They can also collaborate on projects or lesson plans that incorporate these standards and share their experiences and successes with each other. Sharing resources and experiences can help build a supportive community of educators who are better equipped to prepare their students for the ever-evolving world of technology.
