My name is Matt Rose and I teach 1st grade at JA. Being a primary teacher, I really enjoy seeing, and being part of, student growth. First graders grow so much from the beginning of the year to the end and it is really great seeing these young children grow and show pride in their growth. I think the biggest obstacle to students becoming content providers at my grade level is finding ways that first graders can become mostly independent in creating content. First graders are usually pretty needy, and adding technology is sometimes difficult for first graders. I have had First graders in the past show understanding of concepts through videos and pictures on Seesaw, so I know it can be done. It just takes a lot of modeling and teaching to get first graders comptent with the technology.
