I agree with these scores because our jobs as educators is never going to be easy. Good days and bad days will occur. It happens to all.

My last one was a 23. Last school year, these numbers would have been much higher!

Reflecting on my experience for Compassion Satisfaction, Burnout and Secondary Traumatic Stress.

My Compassion Satisfaction was a score of 41 in the medium range. I do get satisfaction about helping others and enjoy what I do. The burnout range was low with a score of 19. I try not to let things bother me to a level that stresses me out. I involve myself with self care when possible to decrease any stresses. My secondary Traumatic Stress was also low with a score of 21. I have experienced traumatic events through life and previous work in health care. It takes a lot of mental health awareness to separate your emotions from events happening around you. If I didn't separate work from my own emotions then my burnout would also be higher. These scores seem to go hand in hand with each other.

BURNOUT

Burnout is associated with feelings of hopelessness and difficulties in dealing with work or in doing your job effectively. These negative feelings usually have a gradual onset. They can reflect the feeling that your efforts make no difference, or they can be associated with a very high workload or a non-supportive work environment. Higher scores on this scale mean that you are at higher risk for burnout.

Your Burnout score is 19

In comparison with a broad range of helpers from different disciplines and in different contexts, you score falls within the Low Range for Burnout.
