Lexia Core5 Reading

Raz-Kids           
This website offers hundreds of interactive books for kids to read at their reading level. This website incorporates reading comprehension quizzes as well. Teachers can use this as a grade that is geared to their student's correct reading level.  https://www.raz-kids.com/ 

Learning Ally Audiobooks           
LAA is a website that has hundreds of audiobooks for students. This website is geared to students who need books read to them. These students may be dyslexic or blind. They have books that are best sellers so that children do not feel left out. https://learningally.org/implementation-success-plan 

Amplify Reading           
Amplify Reading is built on the science of reading. This program gives students an individualized reading program that promotes reading fluency and sharpens close reading skills. This is a game-based learning program.   https://amplify.com/programs/amplify-reading/   

Story World           
This program is ELL-friendly. This website has over 100 bilingual stories and games for students to utilize and become fluent in English and other languages. This could help students identify with their home culture while exploring a new culture.   https://storyworld.us/ 

Lively Learning           
This is an app that helps students work on Phonemic Awareness and Phonics. This app will help emerging readers to have better reading skills as they grow older. This app will help with tracking letters and words, learning letters and words by flashing them on the screen, and matching letters and words with sounds spoken.   https://www.readingwithtlc.com/lively-letters-app/

1. Crashcourse - separation of powers - 
Crash course videos were developed by author John Green and are now directed by PBS. These informational videos give brief introductions to various topics in a way that's easy to digest. This video introduces branches of government and what checks and balances are.

This interactive game allows students to act as the legislative, executive, and judicial branches to see how power interacts.

Kahoot will be used in my classroom often to check for understanding, do class quizzes, and practice throughout units.

This resource provides a map for the basic information on the US Constitution. Students can explore each article, powers established, the history of the Constitution, and more.
5. Brainpop - powers of the Constitution - 
This brief video, also developed by PBS, gives students a quick introduction to how powers are established in the Constitution and what that looks like in our government.

This resource allows students to answer questions given on the US naturalization exam. This is an activity I've always wanted to include in my government classroom because it opens students' eyes to what citizenship means and what they don't know about their government.
