This session was relevant to my future classroom because it helped me feel more prepared for my future classroom. I learned that you’ll figure out a lot of things in time and that it is important to surround yourself with other teachers who love their job. I also learned that I need to not be afraid to ask questions during my interviews with schools because it is important that I feel like the school fits me and my teaching philosophy. One thing I am concerned about in the future is parent interactions, so I am glad we touched on that during this session. I learned that it is important to be upfront with the parents in the beginning so they know, along with the child, what is expected from the student. This experience also showed me how important collaborating is for teachers. There are a lot of great teachers who want to learn from each other. Surrounding yourself with these types of teachers, ones who want to keep learning and collaborating with others, will lead to a much happier career.
