Although I was aware of the many capabilities the IPad apps had (iMovie definitely has a positive reputation all on its own), I’m glad I had the chance to really go step by step and find out exactly how useful some of these apps are. iMovie especially has a lot of appeal to me, because as an English Ed. major, I’m going to have to brainstorm ways to test my students’ knowledge on covered material that doesn’t default to a plain quiz or test. I remember how when I was in highschool, we chose characters from The Crucible to do mini-presentations on; I would like to do something similar in a lesson plan of my own. iMovie would definitely be a fun AND engaging way to do that! Visual projects like this would go with the “Creative Communicator” ISTE standards for students, since it challenges them to make use of digital media to create their own presentation.
