Create a project demonstrating your ability to use all of the tools listed below. Provide a brief explanation of your project and post a link to the file.

  • Section breaks
    • the difference between continuous and next page section breaks
  • Tab Stops and Indentation controls in the Ruler
  • Styles (including use of the Styles Pane)
    • Creation
    • Application
    • Modification
    • Style Separators (hint: ctrl + alt + enter
  • Table of Contents
    • Creation
    • Formatting through modification of the TOC styles
  • List of Tables/Figures
    • By Captions
    • By Styles
  • Track Changes
  • Using Word’s combine feature to combine two or  more documents

Questions you should be able to answer at this level

  • How do you find styles that aren’t shown in the Styles Pane?
  • Why are odd/even section breaks terrible?
  • Why Captions are generally inferior to styles for list of tables/figures?
  • How do styles manifest in the Navigation pane?
  • What three different menus allow you to assess whether there are any space before/after issues?

Was able to display all the tasks except for merging documents... although I did find that but just didn't have another document to merge.
