Celebrating MAP Goals

When a student finishes, their score is written on the goal sheet.  At the end of testing the goal sheet goes home with the students so they can share it with their parents.  Students who meet their goal earn a sticky note on the Wall of Fame in our classroom.

Lets partyyyyyyy!

I feel like celebrating success is key to keeping students PUMPED!  As a class we can earn points during testing to play minute to win it games, students also earn parties in each subject that they show growth in.  To keep parents in the loop I text them as soon as I see their child meet or exceed their goals!  Happy feelings for all!

Student Success

Students that met both of their goals for the MAP tests got positive office referrals. The students who met one goal, as well as the students who met both will get a positive phone call or email home!

Individually and as a class

As each student finishes their test we compare it to their goal. If they made it we have a little private celebration. (high five, hug, dance in our chairs) I load their reports on to class notebook and parent have a link to look at them anytime they want. As a class we celebrate with a breakout. We celebrate doing our best.

Positive Office Referrals and Brag Tags

Something I am going to start this year once our whole class wraps up testing is writing positive office referrals for the kids who met both of their MAP goals. I also found some brag tags for the kids that met their goal in one content area. They will get to wear these brag tags home to show parents and I will write a note in binders for all students who met either goal.
