Differentiation for student needs

This could be a great tool as a special education teacher to help provide differentiation to all students to meet their individual needs in reading and math.

Front Row for Interventions

Front Row offers a great sequence of concepts and skills to address student needs.  iStation is the primary resource used within sixth grade classes to increase student performance.  For students who need extra support, Front Row would offer a different platform to keep them from burning out on using the same one over and over.  The coins offer additional incentive to keep students engaged and motivated.

Word work needs as a center.

I really like the word work section of Front Row and could use it as a center rotation during library check out time. This would be perfect for K-3rd graders who need extra practice.

Front Row

I initially thought that I would use Front Row with some of my tier 3 students, however, it did not work out that way. I mean they used it for a little while, but not for very long. I was not impressed.

This was not what I thought!

I did not see many uses for this in physical education and health classes.  I think that maybe I could use one of the social studies lessons if there was one specific to a certain area but I cannot see myself using this in class.

Close reading +science

My favorite thing is how I can choose an article and assign it based on reading level. Each level has it's own set of questions. This would allow me to read with a group of students at their instructional level and answer questions together. After that I could assign them the same article on their independent level and have them read and answer those questions. It seems like a good way to take them to the next steps in their comprehension practice.

Before researching Front Row I though it was just ELA and Math. We already have Successmaker so I wasn't too excited to put the kids on a screen for another part of their day. When I saw they have science and social studies too, I got excited. The article and videos line up with what we are teaching. I'd like to look into it further and align it with the curriculum. It would be a fantastic way to integrate reading and science!

Skill-specific literacy intervention

After trying out Front Row with two of my reading intervention groups I think would like to use it as a once or twice a week "fun" app for my high kids, a foundational skill intervention for my on-level kids, and a go-to iPad time app for my below-level kids. The kids love the app so far!

What I could use it for

I could use it to build on Math skills, or I could use their ELA resources to help them grow in their ELA skills.

Organizing and collecting data

I need something to help me organize and collect data on students. I am excited about the clean and easy to use tables and graphs.

This would be great for progress monitoring.

Front row will help me monitor the individual skills my sped students need to work on. The program helps students work on skills and will give me a report showing their growth.

Versatile

I really like that there are multiple types of activities for the Social Studies units including hands on.  It's something I can pull pieces from or use the whole thing!  I wish there were more though!
