Reflection

Edulastic offers lots of assessment tools, especially through the enhanced questions within math.  I do not like how cumbersome it is to create assessments.  The question bank has lots of very similar questions which has made it challenging to find the best for each standard.  Once they are added, it is no simple thing to edit them.  The data, however, is well laid out.  With AMP through Schoology, I do not foresee myself continuing to use Edulastic as much as in the past.

Edulastic...

I think that edulastic would have went over better with me and my class if we had used it from the beginning of the year.  Students were used to being assessed in other ways, and the transition to this was a struggle.  I plan to use it from the start next year and hope to see great results.

Edulastic Reflection

I must say, I'm not a fan. I can see why if you were ELA or math it could be really useful. Every time I used it, we were plagued with problems. Logging in was not easy, joining my class was not easy, creating the assignments was not easy. My kids struggled with the login interface. It was not super intuitive, and I think younger kids would struggle the first few times they used it. If they used it daily, I'm sure they would become more familiar. I also didn't really want to assign a standard to mine since it was a reflection and didn't really fit; but Edulastic requires you to assign a standard.

For my class, I think Classkick or GoFormative or Socrative or Kahoot would work better. Edulastic is more formal and standards based, and I don't think I would use it again. I would suggest it to ELA or math teachers. I know one of our ELA teachers said that it showed the passage next to the questions, which was a particularly useful tool for them. Also, core content areas have a lot of question banks that you can add from, which could be useful to other teachers.

Review

Overall, I like Edulastic. I am just a little weary of having the continuously kicking us out of the app. If it works, then it works great.

Edulastic is a good tool for giving multiple choice test. It automatically grades them for you. Short answer questions  take a bit more work to grade:( It was not very easy to grade them inside this resource too many steps to get to each individual students' answer for grading. Besides the difficult with short answer grading this resource has some good features.

I like that the assessments can be shared amongs teachers. I also like that the format is very similar to the KS assessment. The tools for students and the variety of ways to present questions are a plus. This is a resource I will use again in the future.

Edulastic is my go to tool for creating assessments.

Edulastic is my go to tool for creating assessments. I am excited to have discovered some new features!! I am extremely excited to create a vocabulary matching quiz. In my opinion it is way better than other online formative assessment sights. The online resource library is WAY better than Go Formative. It is also easier to create assessments on, in my opinion. And it is much more detailed and comprehensive and has way more features than Socrative.
