After conducting research, what are a few key take aways you have about class meetings. Will you give them a go? Why or why not?

All posted evidence

I am definitely going to try class meetings during Bear Time!!! The potential benefits outweigh the challenges.--

The greatest benefits I read about are:

- Setting a positive tone for the period/day.
- Build a positive environment.
- Gauge how students are feeling that day.
- Discuss issues in the classroom.
- Teambuilding opportunities.
- Students feel like they belong.

i plan to start class meetings next week.  Each meeting will include a check-in, how are you doing activity (privately), announcements, a mindfulness activity and quiet exit.

I would like to try this on a weekly basis.

Some articles I checked recommended this every morning.  I think that is a little too much for my short classes.  However, I think trying this every week maybe on Mondays or Fridays could be beneficial for classroom environment.

Can't wait to start!

I am so excited to make class meetings a priority in my day. I have scheduled them into our daily routine. I think it is so important to really set the tone for the day. We never know what students are bringing in with them when they enter our classrooms. Its imperative that we provide an environment for our students in which they feel loved and cared for. Class meetings are such an awesome way to help students feel safe in the classroom.
