Participants will learn classroom assessment practices that most impact student learning and their role as teacher leaders.

Contextual Task

Create a contextual task using GRASPS or RAFT and include the assessment rubric that all students will be assessed with. More Info

Badge Overview

The Essential Skills that participants will learn are the following:

  1. Understand the assessment cycle as an important component of the curriculum
  2. Distinguish between the three purposes for assessment:  AS, OF and FOR learning – and BE able to use these to improve student learning;
  3. Make the right decisions when designing units by aligning ‘best fit’ assessments with the intended learnings being taught
  4. Seek and respond to student voices in the classroom – embrace a classroom in which students are empowered as owners of their learning;
  5. Understand the power of contextual assessment, and be able to design a quality contextual assessment task (e.g. on the GRASP model).
  6. Provide effective feedback to improve student learning
 Badges will be earned by participants who demonstrate one or more of these skills.
