1.“The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today.”-H Jackson Brown, JRThis quote makes me think of the life of a teacher.  I always seem to reflect on my teachingon my way home from work.  I think about what I would do differently, if I taught a lesson again? Reflecting on lessons and how students respond to them makes a better teacher because one will continue to grow as a teacher.  Mentors often ask mentees questions to reflect on their teaching...What went well?  What would you do differently? How do you think your students responded?  Daily reflections on your lessons bring continued growth as a teacher.  Helping mentees think about their lessons will result in productive growth throughout their career.https://www.brainyquote.com/authors/h-jackson-brown-jr-quotes
2.“Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen, and a push in the right direction.” — John Crosby This quote reminds me of how a mentor has several roles.  Mentees need  much support and may lean on their mentors in many ways.  Mentors need to be a safe, confident person to be able to turn to when mentees need the support.  They need to help mentees develop personal and professional skills, become more productive and organized.  Mentors provide feedback and guidance to help new teachers grow and build their confidence.
