- Large Language Models are fed enormous amounts of digital text from the internet. The program reads the data and looks for patterns, relationships between words, and how language is used. It learns about probabilities of what words usually follow the other words. As a result when Large Language Model a prompt it can generate text that sounds human-like as it predicts the most probable next word.
- There are clear differences between generative and predictive AI, they have different uses within today's society. Predictive AI is about forecasting, and it uses existing data to make an educated guess about what is likely to happen. On the other hand, Generative AI is about creation, taking all the patterns it's learned and it takes that to create something new, that didn't exist before. Generative AI allows us to be more innovative and build something new.
