Developmental Appropriateness and Bloom's Taxonomy

I neglected to mention that this app could be used for any grade level, but would be most effective starting with lower secondary education, because the graphics on the app are more muted and might not hold a child's attention for long.
The learning process with Memrise uses lower  order thinking according to Bloom/s Taxonomy and does not ask users to create their own phrases in a conversational or creative manner. The focus of the app is to remember and understand.

Authenticity- This app is very authentic because practicing note taking skills is very useful.
Curriculum based-It's directly related to curriculum in this sense as well. Students take notes based on lectures, class discussions, etc.
Personalization- Although I touched on all the different features in the video, One of the great aspects of this app is how personalized the user can make it. Users have endless opportunities to make their notes in whatever way they wish.
Differentiation- Some people like to type out all of their notes, some prefer text and highlighting. One of the best features is the ability to record lectures or input your own audio notes to remember for later.

I think I covered the main points, but there is some more to say about having to do with Bloom's Taxonomy. This app is able to reach the multiple levels of Bloom's Taxonomy through the different games and assessments, I think that it doesn't just cause kids to memorize their information but it has them really applying what they know and evaluating how well they know their material. Overall, I think I covered most everything!

I should have covered all the information in the video. I found myself pointing at the screen a lot before I realized that the video couldn't actually see me pointing (lol) so if something seems off or confusing it is probably because I was trying to point at something.

I tried...

I was having a time trying to get Quickime to actually record more than 10 seconds of my review. I was fooled when I finished my review to find out once again that it had stopped midway through. Whee. When it finally recorded the whole thing there was a weird clicky noise but I was too nervous to record it again and so this is the finished project.
One thing I may have forgotten to mention was that there were some levevls that were locked in Beginner mode, but were unlockable as you progressed, and those levels were unlocked in Intermediate mode for a user to start wherever they wanted.

I had a rough go with this one.

Yikes. I made it through and managed to not blow my brains out. I had such a hard time getting the audio to not scream at me. It was like the audio would pick up my click and set it on this perpetual loop and gave not nice sounds. The guys in the lab had to help me figure out what to do to stop it (using a microphone and cancelling out the output by muting)

Something I forget to mention in the video.

In the video, I forget to say that this app can be used to different subjects. It is a good choice for art classes or language classes. You can also use it in math or science class as well. It is not limited to create a written journal. It is a good way to save the students assignment. However, if you are going to use it for a written journal assignment, typing with iPads is not the best way. Overall, it is a pretty good one.

KomaKoma is a free app and is available in a "Lite" version as well.

The app can also apply to differentiation, which is something I failed to mention in my review. The changing of the settings on the app, which I did mention, can be seen as a way to differentiate the experience for each individual student.

There are no limitations that I have come across in the app so far, but I'm sure the "Lite" version is definitely more limited. It is very user friendly, which is something I lightly touched on, and the only inappropriate content on the app would be if students chose to photograph something that is not school appropriate. Everything else about the app is perfectly safe for school use. Everything else was hopefully covered by my video review!

Believe I covered everything.

Should have covered all of the critical criteria.

I may have forgotten to mention with logistics that this app allows for great classroom management. It's easy to manage; students can all download the app and use it at the same time.
