Evaluation and Impact measurement

  • Visible to group members and anyone with the link
Successes include:
  • Gaining over 20 new players in my time on the committee
  • Maintaining our top 6 position in the UK for university softball
  • Gaining confidence in my coaching and session planning abilities
  • Successfully having multiple fixtures and consistent training sessions when possible throughout this difficult and disrupted year

Impacts of my contribution:
  • Have helped to maintain the club numbers particularly during years where we have lost a lot of the more mature players
  • I coached the team for three years including coaching many completely new players
  • Recruited 2 professional trained coaches to help assist the team’s development
  • Have helped guide and train the next captains and committee leaders

Recommendations for next time and sustainability plans:
  • Train as many pitchers as possible at the beginning of the year
  • Take part in as many charity and susu society events to help make our club part of the community
  • In years where there are lots of beginners or lots of the experienced players have graduated it is better to play as a still competitive but lower level team and include as many people as possible, rather than maintain a high competitive level that may not be as enjoyable for a larger proportion of the club
