1. Date and Reflection

I participated in a jigsaw activity were we each took a section of the Talking Together curriculum lessons and became "experts" on the lesson in order to share out with our table groups. The overall layout of the direct instruction curriculum teaches students expectations up front. It parallels well with SWPBIS.

On 4.24.18, Dr. Sue Vernon provided the development of the program, Talking Through to utilize in the initiative through PaTTAN, for promoting positive outcomes for Middle School students to prevent drop-out rates and improve instructional outcomes for the students.

As IU team members, we focused on becoming experts on targeted lessons, shared our findings with other team members in order to understand essential features and components of the program to utilize over the next few years of Grant implementation.  Our group targeted on Lesson 6 and building a community of learners.  I do see how the consistent frame for each lesson helps to substantiate and provide routines for the learners.

lessons should only be 30-45 minutes in length.  If needed, you can break them up into multiple days.  

I learned about the 6 lessons in Talking Together that can be a guide for teachers to teach appropriate communication skills to students.
