I taught the Word Mapping and Memory Table strategies with two colleagues over a 60 minute session.
The session went very well, and my colleagues were very interested in the strategy. They thought the memory pictures were a useful part of the process to cement the root word in their memories. I can see how this strategy could quickly become internalized as the students break apart the words and learn what each part means. Very useful, also, for older students encountering multisyllabic words.
