I trained two teachers in the Paragraph Writing Strategy of SIM. One was an English as a New Language teacher who would be supporting and co teaching the strategy in her ENL students' 6th grade self-contained ELA class. She really enjoyed learning the strategy and felt that the step-by step scaffolding and organization of the program would be really beneficial for her ENL students. Another teacher who I trained in the strategy was a substitute teacher who was doing a leave replacement for a 9th grade English special education class. She taught the strategy in it's entirety and found the students very proficient in writing paragraphs by the end of teaching the strategy. The class would then go on to learn the essay test taking strategy.
