I attended training on with the Concept Enhancement Series on The Vocabulary Lincing Routine on Dec. 4, 2018. The use of both auditory and visual memory device in order to build background knowledge through vocabulary is solid practice that can be utilized in all content area classrooms. The routine is practical and easy to utilize with all students.

The Lincing vocabulary strategy is a great strategy for a student to develop a stronger schema and retrieve the word when needed.

Reflection: The vocabulary LINCing routine is a great strategy to use with the students to assist them in learning how to use key words that they are familiar with in order to describe their actual vocabulary word (ex: vocabulary word - justice, key describing words- trust us). Then allows students to draw a picture and write a sentence that describes their thinking within these key words and pictures.

Reflection

Dec 4, 2018 I participated in a face-face professional development learning about Vocabulary LINCing strategy. I really liked this strategy because I felt like this was a strategic intervention that would be easily used within a classroom and support students in remembering vocabulary.
