I attended the GIST 2 session was very impressed. To be honest, I really didn't like GIST prior to this session. Woo Hoo, Way to Go!!!

Yesterday, I participated in the Xtreme Reading seminar.

In the Xtreme Reading seminar provided by the conference, I was excited to see how many of the strategies that have previously been taught in isolation, are being pulled together to create seamlessness and effective units of instruction.  The rigor that the program provides and the foundational skills that are constantly imbedded will be sure to yield positive results in a short period of time.

The keynote speaker, Dr. Mike Hock was wonderful. I appreciated the stories, participant engagement and the video.

online PD for concept mastery and unit organizer in FL is coming back.

Session on Concept Mastery and Unit Organizer Electronic PD - reviewing the content, format, syllabus- excellent! These longer courses allow for deeper knowledge and implementation of the of the routines and coaching as the facilitator. I'm looking forward to attending a webinar this summer with Marty Beech to learn more about the roll out for 2016-17.

Pre-Conference Xtreme Reading

The Xtreme Reading program is an extremely comprehensive program the provides ALL the tools and resources a teacher would need to improve struggling learners reading ability. Learning strategies are embedded in the content.

GistV2 - Course Builder

This was a good session. I wish we had more time working with Gist and the new features and what it can do than on the background info. It would have been nice to have a powerpoint and a shortcut sheet on hand when working. I would like more info on how to incorporate this in working with a person new to SIM. I'd like to see it implemented.

Tools for Learning Strategies: Progress Monitoring AND New SIM Strategy Reading Materials

This session provided me with the new materials that are available for the reading strategies Word ID, Paraphrasing and Self Questioning.  The session also provided a way to electronically progress monitor students in excel.
