Keli Jessee with VDOE/TTAC provided training on July 19, 2017 on the Vocabulary LINCing technique.

SIM Developers were two women the Virginia Tech T/TAC group and used the Ellis model They instructed us during the VDOE ECT-conference 7/12

Dana (my co-teaching partner and I) sat down to develop a strategy to implement the LNCING strategy.  We developed a co-teaching lesson plan and submitted it to our VDOE TTAC representatives on 9/11/17.  Our reflection on this strategy is that it is substantially different than the Frayer models we use.  Since our department heavily relies on etymology, the LNCING technique is putting us out of our comfort zone.  However, we are going to trust in the research and deploy this strategy despite our reservations.  An important component to implementing this technique is to seek out student feedback on which strategy was more helpful to them: LNCING or Frayer models.

* The names of our professional development leaders our not in the materials received at our co-teaching conference where we conducted the PD.
