As part of the "Site of Excellence" grant I was afforded the opportunity to learn about Vocabulary Linc'ing. This was a worthwhile experience that showed how allowing students the opportunity to take a lead in their learning would allow them to better understand vocabulary. Many of the students I work with have struggles in vocabulary development because of outside factors. Allowing them the opportunity to make their vocabulary come alive is something I will continue to use and implement in my classroom, especially in small reading groups to help students to better learn and apply their vocabulary.
