Diane and I talked about her FRAME on the spheres of the Earth. Her extension would include students working in small groups to continue their learning of spheres.
We also spoke about an observation I made using the FRAME. Diane felt that the lesson went very well and was quite pleased with implementing the FRAME routine with her science class. She felt that the Cue- and Do- sequences went well and that she has down pat. The Review- sequence is a challenge that she would like to work on this year. She does not feel that enough time is devoted to reviewing the device itself or the content of the device.
One way to help her overcome this barrier, is to include more small group time, in her words for students to come back to the device and use it to further their understanding. I also offered that I could help hold her accountable by setting a future date to observe the Review- sequence in action. I will follow up with her after the observation.
