The students were actively involved with co-constructing the FRAMEs.  When the material was new to the students there was definitely more guidance on my part but by the end of the FRAME, the students were able to provide input.  The students feel very comfortable using the FRAME and have found that it is a great tool for reviewing material as well as organizing new material and making connections between main ideas.  After multiple implementations, the students are very familiar with the process of introducing the FRAME and the key topic and determining the “is about” statement from previous knowledge and progressing through the main ideas and coming up with their own So What? statement before completing the extension activity.
