It was good that my students had prior information in setting up a bar graph and circle graph. They were able to give information. This particular class likes to let a few select students answer most questions but I think there was a little more variety today because they were comfortable. The challenge was coming up with the name for the categories (the larger topic). I will need to develop better inquisitive questions to promote better answers. We were able to develop individual class surveys, conduct them with each other, make a table to collect the data and represent as tallies, fractions, decimals and percents. Then students put them into bar and circle graphs. Evidence is posted in Drive. I should have used this when teaching area and perimeter but think it will make a nice review for the SOL test coming up all too soon. We have already started on the Concept Comparison Table for mean, median, and mode for next week. Excited to teach it again.
