My coteacher and I used the Concept Comparison Routine in our classes for covering and clarifying information such as McCarthyism vs The Salem Witch Trials, fiction vs non-fiction, simile vs metaphor, and so on. Going through the compare and contrast steps using this graphic organizer proved helpful in cementing different concepts in the minds of students.
