It is very important to have high expectations for all of our students. I like how these middle school students are referred to as scholars and are taught the meaning of this word as intellectual learners. Also, I like the SPARK acronym which is utilized school wide. I feel that using the same terminology in all school settings such as classrooms, hallways, and bathrooms can help raise both academic and behavioral expectations.
