One item that resonated with me in the video is the statement that “there isn’t a race chromosome in our DNA…It simply doesn’t exist.” I had no idea that race isn’t real, but simply a social construct. It has been simply used by governments as a political tool. This idea needs to be expressed to students especially in their social studies classes that deal with how the U.S. treated various groups of individuals (i.e. segregation in the United States). I feel that it may alter the viewpoint of students who may hold some racist viewpoints.
