Resilience and Community Services Mandatory Training Series Vicarious Trauma “Helping Can Hurt”   The goals of this training are for the participants to get an understanding of vicarious trauma.  To reflect upon and self-assess their own experiences with vicarious trauma and its impact.  to begin to think about developing coping strategies to lessen the impact of vicarious trauma.  To examine next steps. Sessions: (All sessions held from 2 pm until 4 pm) January 29th @ Bridges of Hope March 25th @ Edison Center – 1st Floor May 27th @ Edison Center – 1st Floor July 15th @ Bridges of Hope

As Veteran Coordinator over the Office for Veterans which is a division of the Office of Resilience and Community Services for Louisville Metro Government, I am responsible for giving periodic presentations on behalf of Mayor Greg Fischer.  Other presentations include the following:

1.   WLOU Vet Speaks sponsored by the National Association of Black Veterans.
2.   WLOU In the Lou, sponsored by the Office of Resilience and Community Services.
3.   WLOU Metro Matters, sponsored by Louisville Metro Government Althea Jackson moderator.
4.   WAVE 3 and WLKY 32 appearances during the 2019 Mayor’s Week of Valor.
5.   USA Cares Mayor’s Representative, as part of the Mayor’s Day of Service and Week of Valor.
6.   VA HUD VASH Program Graduation Keynote Speaker.
7.   The Annual Mayor’s Week of Valor Press Conference Speaker (Chairperson).
8.   2019 Neighborhood Place Annual Day workshop moderator over Veteran Services

United Community Partner Convening

As an United Community referral system user, I was asked to represent our Louisville Metro Office of Financial Empowerment AcceLOUrate Savings program as a panelist.  I described how the system was used by our program and the pros and cons of using daily.  Partners that use the system were in attendance as well as those considering joining United Community.  Thanks Metro United Way for the invite!!!
