This lesson can help at my grade level because we study many texts that students are not able to find the theme easily. As they switch from elementary and middle school, the reading becomes more difficult and the themes are often embedded. This resource shows how teachers can use guided questions to help clarify theme. Students will understand that theme develops over the course of the text and by using the clarify, elicit, act, and interpret method they will be able to find the theme.
