DOWNLOADED LESSON: WHAT’S THE POINT
Description: this lesson has students analyze a cartoon using different techniques and graphic organizers. Students are asked to read a non-fiction article to help build their background knowledge to help complete an argumentative writing assignment. This lesson has many graphic organizers and a rubric to help the students successfully complete the assignment.
Future use: This will be very helpful in the future to use as a writing lesson. It goes right along with the standards and is a fun and creative way to teach about not only point of view, but argumentative writing. This is also helpful because this lesson can then tie into social studies by having students look at the view point of individuals throughout history. For example the difference between the view point about god from the pharaoh and the Egyptians to Moses and the Jews, or the Romans vs the Christians.
