I can analyze standards-based reports to drive my instruction by looking at which standards my kids are struggling in, and then focusing my lessons directly on strengthening their weaknesses. I can analyze the test results by strand summary or item analysis to show me more specifically how my students are doing. If all my students missed a certain question, I can see if it was asked in a way my students didn't understand, or if there was certain terminology that threw them off. I can focus on students who need remediation of certain standards or students who demonstrate proficiency and are ready to be further challenged. I can view this information quickly and then create
small groups in which to focus specific standards-based instruction.
