Stay current with research that supports improved student learning outcomes, including findings from the learning sciences.

As a teacher it is important to be advocate for students and empower them, which means incorporating their culture and backgrounds into the classroom. Secondly, teachers will not have all the answers, but it is important to do research so when the discussion of race does come up you are able to communicate most appropriately. The research can also continue after discussion.
