How it Works

Flocabulary is a learning platform that allows students and teachers to interact and participate as a whole group or individually. This platform will reach every students different learning style at some point in the lesson sequence. If students prefer visual learning, there are videos we would watch throughout the lesson. If they are reading learners there are tasks within flocabulary they will complete that will reach them as well. This allows teachers to take their lessons to the next level and gives room for students to be creative but structured in the learning process while also making it fun and interesting.

Flocabulary, what is it?

Flocabulary is a song-based style of learning. Topics in all subjects are put to music that is engaging and fun for students.

However, there is much more to Flocabulary. It starts with a video - where you can stop and discuss questions. All lessons include important vocabulary and offer vocab cards to take home/study from. There is an interactive vocab activity that allows students to demonstrate what they have learned and how to appropriately use the vocabulary.
Read and respond is also another option to participate in after the activity. This activity offers questions that can often appear on standardized or state tests. This helps students have a solid understand of the content they are learning.
Lyric lab lets students create their own rhyme using what they have learned during the video and lesson. There are also quizzes and games that provide feed back to students as well.
Teachers are able to track results on the dash board.

Flocabulary

explain what is in Flocabulary….how does it work?  What will you get from Flocabulary?

Flocabulary is another way of learning information in a fun way making it a sing along, with discussions and quizzes to check for student understanding. Not only that but the video's show great visuals for students that are visual learnings, helping them retain the information quicker.

You simple search your topic and Flocabulary has a number of videos you can choose from.

There are some fun health and wellness videos I could use for Physical Education class. I love the month by month videos that help students understand what major holiday's they may not know about and/or other fun facts.

Task 2 Evidence

Flocabulary is an online lesson resource that can be implemented as a whole group, small group, or as independent instruction. The lesson starts with a video as the basis, and continues building key knowledge and vocabulary about the selected topic. Flocabulary provides differentiated lesson materials including vocabulary cards and games, reading passages and questions, a quiz, and even a "lyric lab" where students can apply their knowledge. The video lesson has a "discussion mode" which allows the teacher to pause and ask important questions that help lead class discussions. This type of lesson delivery has many positive aspects. It provides a variety of teaching delivery styles (from whole group to independent learning), it is fun and engaging, it focuses on key concepts, and important vocabulary words. Not only that, but one Flocabulary lesson provides all parts of a successful lesson- an introduction, knowledge activation, discussion, assessment, application, and even provides useful data that can help drive future classroom instruction.
